Private Residential Price Index |

The index shows the overall price movements of all types of private homes. It is calculated based on caveats lodged with URA and includes only the property price, excluding other fees such as commission or stamp duties. Buyers usually lodge a caveat to protect their interests on a property after exercising their option to buy or have signed a sale and purchase agreement.
The index does not include collective sales as those are usually done are prices much higher than the individual deals.
Why it is useful?
The index shows price appreciation/depreciation of private properties over a period of
time. It allows owners and prospective buyers to track overall market movement, and make an informed decision based on the index. It reflects the general
sentiment of the private property market.
